On Saturday 12 December 2026, Birdie Bar & Brasserie runs a Gingerbread House Workshop for Kids in the lobby of Novotel Sydney City Centre, 7-9 York Street, from 12pm to 2pm.
Stay the night and the workshop is one lift ride away. No train home with a gingerbread house on your lap.

Two hours of building, then lunch
Kids get pre-baked gingerbread, icing and lollies to build their own house. A kids’ menu meal and soft drink are included, and the house comes home with them.
A table for you while they build
Up to two adults per child, free. Order from the Birdie menu, or pre-book Sparkling & Cheese for $30 per person.

What is the workshop cancellation policy?
Cancel at least 48 hours before the session for a full refund. Late cancellations and no-shows incur a 50% fee. Room bookings follow the Family City Staycay terms.
Kids eat free the night you stay
The Family City Staycay includes buffet breakfast, late check-out until 12pm, and free kids’ dinner at Birdie (under 12, with a paying adult).
